Incidentally, anytime you're planning to draw someone flying, go to your favorite stock photo site, or Google Image search, and type in "board mid-air". You'll get photos of skateboarders, snowboarders, surfers, and divers (diving "board")
People really do fly. It's amazing the poses that skateboarders make in mid-jump.
Also try things like "gymnast" and "track high jump bar" and "acrobat." I got a few images of a circus gymnast who hangs by red fabric wrapped around his arms. I'm tempted to go looking and see if I can find a video of that guy just to see his act.
